pres.ob went golfing as the gulf was sprayed with corexit. this happened over land as well as sea. pres.ob didn't stop the use of depleted uranium in the ME and I don't see the hoped for change anywhere. I see a bunch of idolatry regarding our alleged leaders.
Hope we learn the lesson soon as the Fukushima scene is looking really horrific.

They need to admit they are following industry orders.

There is something critically, clinically and nearly collectively wrong with the human species. We are incongruent, we are inconsequential to the grander picture. At best we may be nothing more than a cosmic memory.
If the dinosaurs et al went extinct, humans deserve no less fate.

The latest meme appears to be "no immediate health threat." That's their line, and they're sticking to it. "Ambassador Murata informed us that the total numbers of the spent fuel rods at the Fukushima Daiichi site excluding the rods in the pressure vessel is 11,421 (396+615+566+1,535+994+940+6375)." That statement still omits the truth; it says nothing about the really dangerous, long-lasting isotopes, the Plutonium and Uranium that got scattered about from the MOX fuel in reactor #3. The MOX fuel is the issue that the IAEA and NRC do not want to discuss, as that is a cog in the factory of the military-industrial complex.

With Chu et al. pushing for clean green nuclear energy to power our clean green electric cars, it's probably time for every household to own a geiger counter. 104 nuke plants in this country stuffed to the brim with double-stacked spent fuel pools, and 50-some plants in Japan with many, many times the lethality and concentration of Chernobyl. 100 minutes is all it takes. Ugh.
