Effing useless twits kept our biggest gun mostly idle for our ongoing forest fire season. Now the short contract is up. BC "glove-mint" excercises it's "corporate free speech" to tell us unwise otherworldy lies.

Fish feed the forest.
How are the fish doing in waterways in those areas.

Noting that am not seeing the devestation here, in the Fraser Valley. We still have fish (for now). Deciduous trees are under attack here, for sure. I am seeing birch & cherry (et al) trees with damaged leaves that look similar to pestilance damage, yet are unusually widespread. Evergreens seem fine though, even around microwave earth stations.

I live in France. The trees are all healthy and strong. There are Giant Sequoias all over the Limousin. Robinier Pseudoacacia grow like weeds, as do Maple, Oak, Ash and Chestnut. I just got back from the Cantal Region where I saw some fantastically enormous pine trees, perhaps Douglas as well as ancient Beech. In the Pyrenees the Beech forests are truly spectacular. In the Morvan the forest reminds me of places in western Washington or Oregon. I lived next to a big forest on the edge of Paris for nine years and there are some ancient Oaks and Beech that astonished me. The French forest service cull trees from time to time and sell them to England. A tree lover myself I felt sad to see that, but then I could see that for the French it was about the long term and the forest would grow back. Now I live next to a forty hectare parcel of forest owned by a man who has it fenced off, and as far as I can tell, never enters it. This summer we had two months without rain and intense heat and though a lot of people lost garden shrubs and young fruit trees, the trees of the region showed little sign of stress. All of the fields were golden but the patches of forest stayed green.
