Indeed some of these are just "true believers" in their "cause". It approaches, if not fully, a mental disorder. Carl Jung spoke in depth on intelligent people who make judgements on feelings and not cause and effect.

Most of my early life friends are "liberal" because I have many liberal aspects to my outlook on art, music, writing, environment, but being an ENTJ I also have the ability to see cause and effect clearly and feel feeling while not acting stupidly and counter productively on feelings.

It's a big problem, and the only solution I can see is to be true to myself and my beliefs, and not remain silent when big problems are being approached incorrectly. I have and will continue to "lose people". And thats OK, as an extrovert who doesn't need people (much).

Now how the heck did I get started on that rant.....

Do "they" have mental disorders, is a certain percentage of the population acting on feelings actually an evolutionary advantage, or are they bribed with money and power, and likely a combination of things.

Stock, it might cost a lot less than you think -- IF you think about families across generations. Simple case in point: Gavin Newsom, Governor of Kalifornication, is the NEPHEW of Nancy Pelosi. A recent study showed the lineage and positions of "4 ruling CA families". If it's all in the family, then it likely costs a lot less.
