I recall reading reference to the detritus being seen for hundreds or thousands of feet of distance. Am uncertain of the details though.

Of course, i am afraid. Maybe i do accept my fate, yet i hope to be involved in some effort at sequestration or even (hopefully) cleanup of mankind-made radionuclide (et al) pollution before i breathe my last lungful of air. That cannot start until there is greater acceptance of current conditions, imho.
