Actually it's not as you say. If you went over to NRC HQ you would see how inclusive they are to the public. I think people that think the agency is captured really never took the time or effort to participate in the process. The Government in Sunshine Act was specifically designed for public participation. If the NRC didn't care about protecting the public it would not even bother accommodating people at local meetings. How many people participate in FAA or CDC procedings. Until the Nuclear Industry is forced to allow independent inspectors access to every site we will be left with having to trust Pro Industry information that has proven to be wrong all too often.
