Weaponizing empathy has been a brilliantly effective tactic by society wreckers: If you care for others, and especially granny, you will submit to being injected with weird unknown sh*t. And let all manner of invaders pour in. On a slightly related woke note, we had begun to worry that our lab (a dog, not a scientific playground) was beginning to identify as a connoisseur of fine dining, since it seemed to be getting in the habit of refined micro-expressions of ‘not quite satisfactory’ to too many of our earnest attempts to please it, food-wise. But we have woken up to its tactic, and seem to be, I am proud to say, on the whole, less under its spell. .
