stock here, saw this comment on a local story about the Electric Company blamed for the Maui Massacre.
It’s likely to start happening in other places too, especially the Blue cities that have been so horribly mismanaged.

You can tell that difficult economic times are ahead for the state when the big players start battling amongst themselves for slices of a decreasing pie. HECO’s income comes from rate payers. Anything that increases their expenses, from union contracts to being liable for fires to paying executives more, will end up getting paid by the citizens. I’ll keep highlighting this over and over, but every major display of incompetence in the state ends up getting paid for by the citizens though higher taxes, higher prices, higher fees, higher utility rates, higher insurance premiums and/or lower quality of government services.
The “securitization” rate increase is BAD news for Hawaii residents and businesses. HECO is out of line. They probably have the highest paid executive team in town— they should take in what the average employee in the state gets of their company needs help so much.
I have a small business and we are hammered by HECO. It’s nearly impossible to do business in Hawaii because of the cost, especially for the little guy.
Despite these difficulties I don’t get hand outs from the state or get $1M+ in compensation.
Mahalo civil beat for covering that all of Gov. Green’s top staff are a part of the super pac that got him elected. None of his campaign promises were kept except the ones he made to the carpenters union. The stuff he promised that was appealing to general voters was swept under the rug and killed (no tax on groceries) meanwhile he supported the unending GET tax increase that goes straight into his campaign contributions pocket. Talk about a great return on investment! 1.5 million contributed and 9 billion returned! Meanwhile the main reason why our electricity rates are so high is political interference and pandering- we need to expand use of firm and renewable Geothermal but instead we are importing gas to burn. This is bad for the environment and bad for consumer prices.

New Mexico is fully jumped in to
“the electric company caused the fires”,
and probably other States, with no
news communication between broadcast areas. I think it’s intentional
destruction of the power utility companies, with everybody able to
grab a piece of the legal-beagle Pie,
which our idiot judges allow to feed all
the courtroom mafia underlings .
Same deal with what appears to be
sinister corporate International efforts to
destroy Southwest Airlines. Media goes
along with Chinese propaganda, etc.
Folks gotta face that it’s not 1970,
and the boomer hippies did not save
the World, and as my dad liked to say
back when I was 12, Nobody Owes you a Living. What have you produced?
Spoiled Rotten Americans. As the
Bible says A nation of unfenced cities.
NM is passing D party laws to strengthen lawyers. Nobody is going to
continue building transmission lines,
Who can afford it? At least we have the
Rule of No tax on food and water in NM.
I wonder if someone got a vendetta on Delta, or if they are self destroying.
