Volcano Visit Finally!

stock here: I went to visit the Volcano. I missed the fountaining by 1 hour!!!! But gathered much valuable information about the park layout and strategies for the next trip. A “To Go” luggage will be locked and loaded and the Canon 6D Mark 2 camera, accesories, and tripods and more will be prepped and ready to roll.

One of the ladies at the Volcano hotel (not the Volcano house), had a wall hung calendar, and has been tracking each eruption since last year, that was very valuable to look through.

Overall it was a great experience though, I did shoot the Volcano that night, and will process those photos that I already transferred to the laptop for double safe keeping, some will be good.

What is universal is that the maps and the information provided, in all cases, is deficient or just plain wrong. Boots on the ground is the only way to investigate this volcano.

I also did a photoshoot at the best tropical botanical garden on the planet. And drove up to the top of Mauna Kea in the Nissan Rouge, and then started up Mauna Loa but just ran out of time to catch the return flight. I’ll post up photos in future articles, but now it ‘s time to get ready for the weekend.

Thank you for going. What would all of the professionally trained volcanologists, geochemists and geophysicists do without an engineer last in school in the 80’s or 90’s with a handheld camera with “boots on the ground” to understand this eruption??? You really give until it hurts. We are lucky to have you. Such an alpha.
