4:09 pm EST the lave plume is now a less tall solif gush because the crater has dissolved or something and the 2 mini plumes have all merged with mother plume. The whole mess is gushing downhill.
I looked at the map and volcano is surrounded by a national park so no villages or homes in danger.

On afarTV channel cam the timestamp at the bottom has 19:00 for my 4 p.m. observation if you want to scroll back for the action.

4 pm EST –
wow. The red lava has entirely melted the crater wall side that had made that little pool so all the lava is gushing down the side directly. Just now happened. The wall melted like ice.

3:50 EST – I don’t know what this means but the spectacular high red hot lava plumes have added black stuff at the end of the ejections. wow

yes there are 2 vents, and sometimes they both fountain. I can only imagine the underground porting which changes as earthquakes happen and rock move and create blockages or partial dams.
