As caregiver for an old guy up in the woods, I found his whole house and property was rodent city. Pack rats had
totally stuffed the engine compartment.
They use sharp pointy chunks of cholla
(Choy -yah) as defensive perimeter under the hood. A bigger rat with big ears ruled the rooftop area. I put down
the big fold-out sticky big rat trap by their pathway up the wall. Caught a big
one, and left the trap set there. More
Mice, rats , babies came and died.
I left it there, and after a couple days,
The sticky had also got a hundred flies!
Which did put a noticeable purge on the fly population.
It’s possible the burden of rat scat contributed to his health problems.
Anyway, leave the sticky traps set where yet pets won’t get in them, and
catch centipedes, spiders, etc.
I’m cool with spiders, they eat flies.
