I guess it must be now know as the stock curse. August 2024. After I met with his team in Madison, and they promised to introduce me to him in a Wisconsin visit….then he bows out. I will admit, his team knew a lot, I educated them a bit. Oh well.
Quick take on Madison, I knew it well as a “lad” of 16 to 25. It was odd this time. We went to a wonderful restaurant which was decently priced, before the Jake Shimabukuro concert, maybe one of the world’s best Ukulele players. The food was awesome and decent price. The waitress disappeared when we were ready for the check….major mistake, but gave her a decent 15% tip on inflated food prices.
Cleaning my office. And the notes….in Madison, walked around the Capitol of which they have a massive farmers market on Saturday. Massive. Prices, normal for what I would like to get as a farmer, which I am. But no one is selling organic, just one place stated no pesticides, and that is out of say 400. Their prices were what I would want to sell as Organic. So there is plenty of money in Madison, they will spend it on non-organic, at organic prices. It is so “liberal” as it has always been.
Now I shall throw down: In 2.5 hours, I was shocked, although still enjoying the walk around the huge and beautiful capital.
Boom, No one had a tan, no one was wearing red (the Wisconsin Badgers colors and an extroverted color, I can say that besides the 2 pretty post 50’s Asian ladies I was with….there was only 1 other pretty female that I noticed, out of say 5000. Shocking, they don’t even try anymore. Madison used to be quite the fun town. There were several musicians playing on the streets, hoping for tips, but not overtly, and their quality was quite high.
Sad to say, this Liberal capital, Madison, has turned into something not what it was.
We went sailing on Lake Mendota, the best but just one of the 7 great lakes of Madison, and it was brisk winds. Enough to be exciting, but too windy to enjoy the shallow warm bay famous for wading and drinking beer.
From Vegas hiking several years back…..what an awesome time.
