"Citizen Scientist" now a Buzzword, How Long Before Everyone Realizes the Grant Whore Scientists Are Bought and Paid For

Citizen science takes on Japan's nuclear establishment

Though the immediate threat of radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has waned, interest in Safecast’s data has not. The organization, which takes no position on nuclear power, is supported by foundations, grants and individual donations.

And citizen journalists are necessary as the MSM is blatantly bought and paid for

  1. Someone posed a great question about phony kelp-watch. With Scripps Ocean science campus a few feet away from radiated kelp why are they asking the public to foot the freight bill on sending kelpless-water samples (by the gallon!) to the EAST coast for analysis?

    1. yep Kelp watch only make sense for the immediate aftermath in which Iodine 131 is present, and that has an 8 day half life.

Nuremberg trials for these lying grant whores.

    2. How hot is the radiated kelp? More generalities. Sheesh. The food you buy is radiated. Only in minute quantities. Quantify! Like any good scientist. Dont be sloppy in your assessments.

  2. because it's a mil op... their goal is to control information and create the illusion that they are doing the right thing... always the same when gov infiltrates.

    1. Yep, but more people are catching on. "they" are not going to like that.

    2. No. Its because thats how academia works. If you dont get funded research you dont publish. And if you dont publish you perish. If you have a grad degree you know what i mean and you were part of the process yourself. And its called rhe greater good for a reason sparky. So dont bite the hand that feeds many....

    1. "at best" and Nuremberg type convictions at reality.

    2. Nope. You have to have proof of death not unproven conjecture. Six million bodies/ovens hard to refute. Nazis were the worst dbags in human history. They deserved it. No one in any real position agrees with you or the zeitgeist would have it up front. You and extremists are alone on that one, sport.

    1. Who specifically at epa? Who do you specifically blame. Radiation protection policy is made by expert consensus.

  5. Professionals will always be more skilled than amateurs. Just because i can hit 95 mph at the batting cage doesnt make me a major leaguer. Pros get paid for their skillset. A large gaggle of citizen scientists can only be average at best. Law of Large Numbers in play here. I bet you didn't know that. Its because CS'ers (lol) dont know the stuff we know. 9 years college blows any CSer away.pun.

  6. I bet CSers dont have knowledge of muon tomography. Whats that you say? Only the tech developed at LANL not by CSers that refutes you and the rat farm.

  8. tomography of any kind is very similar... tell us how the muon backscatter filtering works and why they say they have found something in the area where the "ground" back scatter (noise) was previously stated to be non-data. Weren't they 9TEPCO) going to bury a detection unit deeper underground so they could get muon trajectories that were actually not at such oblique angles to the detectors and then they would be able to "see" the torus?? Riddle me that sir, why did they not get another imagery sample from that separate angle? Dont say cost.. cause thats a joke at a site like Fuku.
