LOL lots of discussion at ENE on the meaning patriot, I first put forth a definition which was viciously attacked and then some concluded that patriotism could be condensed down to "a dangerous emotion". Wow, no one could wrap their heads around the idea that you could love your country even whilst seeing the evil in it.
DeleteWow! Now I am spooked. Disorienting the truth that is created by a lie. Once again you drop something on me where I'm working on an article that is over the target of lying. This makes a lot of sense and why we get disoriented. This also occurs when confronted with new information that contradicts said beliefs, ideals, and values. (end Wiki) This simultaneously holds two opposing ideas directed at the person involved. First, the correct one which in your case the patriot loves his or her country and second the patriot is a dangerous emotion. We get disoriented from the truth and really this is an old tactic pushed on society. That's not good you received blowback. Proof of how this got turned around.
