Hawaii Earthquakes and Vulcanism -- An Update

A fairly rare large 3.6 EQ hit Lo'ihi, the next Hawaiian Island, a developing volcano off Hawaii, with interestingly enough, it's own underwater caldera.   These do happen about 4 per year on average, but they come in spurts too.

The 2018 volcanic event saw such spurts, with 4 in 3 days.

But the remarkable issue, if the number of deep quakes is way up.    Roughly 20 deep quakes since 1999, and the prior 20 years only had 1 deep quake.

Check it out.   Good basic research to understand Hawaii.
