Nuclear Poetry

This guy Or-Well always does topical poems, mostly posting at ENENEWS.

Some of his work (I assume he is a he, just seems like a he, but no offense if a she) is amazingly good, and strikes to the point.    Here is one of them.

The Lies of Nuclear meet the Dreams of Children

You realise you are not alone:
this must for others be as true;
that more than you live in despair
for what they can't undo.
But there are other children
in desparate circumstance
and if you act you may secure
if but for one, a chance,
and if two join, or three can act as one,
you may prevent one more child's life
from being as undone,
and if all those who know a child
and love or have been loved
will act for the most precious
their futures to improve,
much threat of death and misery
from young lives can be removed.

And so in pre-dawn grayness an inner light ignites
that can no more be extinguished
than the Sun or Human Rights,
when one by one the many come
understanding to the fight
you can rip away vast Evil's face
though it holds you by the throat
and expose the lies of Nuclear
before all Life it smotes.

Radiation Being Released at Michigan Nuke Plant

http://public-blog.nrc-gateway.gov/2012/11/06/the-palisades-shutdown-explained/

If you read this, they are venting tritium from the Klunker plant Palisades in Michigan.

Also rejoice that solar and nat gas killed the Kewaunee plant on the other side of Lake Michigan, now they plant to store 1,000,000 pounds of the spent fuel right on the Lake shore…nothing like trying to kill a great lake, we could then call it the Great Plutonium lake

Express your opinion to governor Walker at this link, and consider klik to adz too, thanks!

Forces of Evil are killing nuke, hilarious!

This is from "Atomic Rod"

I’m saddened, but certainly not surprised. The forces of evil that are determined to make nuclear energy uneconomical are currently stronger than those of us who are determined to ensure that the world’s current and future population has a viable, clean, abundant and reliable alternative to burning the earth’s stored hydrocarbon wealth as quickly as possible.

Sandy generated from Nuke Risk and Nuke Coverup Backlash

United Press International said nuclear plant safety was questioned by Sandy.
Washington Post highlighted how little is known about the real natural risks in the US and how dangerously close these plants are to major population centers.
The New York Times points out today that US nuclear reactors lack filters for their emergency vent system. This puts the public at great risk. The nuclear industry is opposing this because they do not want to spend the money.
Guardian UK says that US regulators and nuclear plant owners leave everything to luck and questions US nuclear safety after Sandy.
The NewYorker calls the nuclear industry to the mat for their deceptive statements on Oyster Creek‘s emergency alert during Sandy.

The old "Sleeping next to someone lie"

It is easy to expose the lies of nukers with just a little background.

One of the paid trolls on Huffpost, AtomsforPeace moniker, says that you get 20 mSv in 3 years by sleeping next to someone.    Wow.    He uses this lie to justify that a CT scan at 20 mSv is "nothing"
His claim is that sleeping next to someone is a 2mrem dose in 8 hours.

That would be *365, or 730mrem per year, or about 7.3 mSv per year.
The conversion is about 100 mren per mSv, as can be seen on my handy conversion page
http://nukeprofessional.blogspot.com/p/conversions-and-safety-limits.html

What an absurd claim, as that is way higher than the average annual dose from all sources, including man made for the average person.

But it is true that your own body gives you a .3mSv dose annually from the Potassium.

So lets calculate the dose using data from Argonne National Lab, and some simple geometric graphic methods.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Potassium (i.e. the ol' banana deception)
Each year this isotope delivers doses of about 18 millirem (mrem) to soft tissues of the body and 14 mrem to bone.   Thats 32 mrem.      Using my handy conversion page, 100 mrem =1 mSv approximately.   So roughly .3mSv total annual internal dose from Potassium.

Its a beta and gamma emitter, 90% beta.
Beta will travel a few feet through air, and a centimeter or two into flesh or water.
The source for that information is Argonne National Labs, here
http://www.ead.anl.gov/pub/doc/potassium.pdf

In sketch SK-1 below we see that the radiation leaving the body and not absorbed by the body is only about 17% of the total.

And in SK-2 we see that on the average Queen Size bed geometry that the transmitted dose to Body 2 is at most 6.9% of the leaving radiation from Body 1.

So if the Body 1 total annual internal dose is 0.3mSv * 17% * 6.9% = .0035mSv per year if sleeping together 24/7, so lets say 8 hours per day, or 1/2 of that or

0.001167 mSv per year -- Calculated by the Nuke Pro

compared to

7.3 mSv as promoted by a nuclear promoter.

This is a "lying factor" of 625500%

So we have proven that nuclear promoters lie by over 6000 times the real value.      LOL, I hear the TEPCO is looking for some "Data Communicators", the job lasts a long time!

0.001167 mSv is really negligible in the overall scheme of things, you can get off the couch and go back to the bed and rest easy.   LOL.    And go Troll Jousting, when you hear the lies of Nuke, just point them to a link at the Nuke Pro.

Here is some more reason not to worry about your own internal radiation, and TO WORRY about the external radiation sources that the medical and nuclear cartel are willing to expose you to.

The neat thing about potassium is that is spreads evenly through the body, only about 1 in 10,000 is the radioactive type, and it takes 1.3 billion year for HALF of them to "go off".    What this means is that even though it is well spread throughout the body, each particular "go off" aka an ionization hits one isolated cell structure if any at all.    The body has developed over a huge long time to be ability fix much of this "one shot" internal radiation.   It has to do with repairing strand breaks caused by the ionization.   The body is pretty good at repairing a single strand break and nothing much too weird happens.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now consider the effects of a Mixed Martial Arts fighter doing damage to the same victim at close range and repeatedly.....enter the "Hot particle"

Now when a "hot particle" get into the lungs or guts (think cesium and strontium) they can pack a much more powerful punch, and when they lodge or become part of the body structure, they can continually damage the same cellular structures, causing double strand breaks.   The body tries to repair them.   Now consider a double double strand break that get repaired incorrectly.    Horrors.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And thus the big difference between the naturally occurring Potassium, and "foreign" radiation.

Beta will travel a few feet through air, and a centimeter or two into flesh or water.

Also the NRC published a pie chart in their article here, which I debunk --- they start lying right out of the gate, right at the baseline their pile their lies high.

http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/fact-sheets/bio-effects-radiation.html

Here is the lies laid bare----

The next battle, we killed Kewaunee now the cleanup

Economics and Anti-Nuke sentiment have Killed Kewaunee

Dominion Resources owns this clunker.   They tried to sell it and there were no buyers.    The strong solar programs in Wisconsin (indeed!) and natural gas are just way cheaper than nuke.

Also buyers are getting alot more aware of what they are buying.   When they sell off these clunkers, they also include a gift that keeps on giving, spent fuel pools.   In Michigan, they sold a clucker plant, and also forced the buyer to take over a spent fuel pool at a completely different location.   But that was before Fukushima, that was before the Nuke Pro and ENENEWS started educating the public on how dangerous the nuke Cartel is.

Even at Kewaunee they won't really decommission the plant, because a real decommission would cost $1B to $2B.   Instead they store the used fuel on site, and then let the plant decay for 60 years.    It is subject to extreme damage and neglect in those 60 years, picture a tornado ripping through a crumbling clunker plant.

Kewaunee, partial victory Contact Gov Walker

If you think this email is relevant, pass it on.

Kewaunee is up by Green Bay
It is the first of 104 plants in the US to close down.   Congratulations to Wisconsin, leading the Pack!

The big problem with these plants is not that 1% of them blow up, but the long lasting problem of the spent fuel.   The used fuel turns into all sorts of nastiness, including plutonium which is one of the worst things man could ever conjure up.

They keep the most dangerous thing on earth (spent fuel) right next to the second most dangerous thing on earth….the reactors.

At Kewaunee, they plan on storing ALL the spent fuel the plant has ever produced, 500 yards away from Lake Michigan, for 60 to 120 years.    It has to be carefully stored, cooled and separated, or it can re-erupt in a nuclear fire that would disperse all of the nastiness.    Think a monster tornado or a terrorist attack as simple as a backpack full of plastic explosives.    They say they will have security “for forever”, however just this year a 82 year old nun sneaked  into a nuke storage site and stayed there for a day undetected.    So much for security.

Or if that spent fuel got into the Lake….that would be the end of Lake Michigan and all the cities on the lake.  Not likely, but still, accepting this kind of danger is pretty close to insanity.

Contact Gov. Walker, and get them to move that spent fuel shit to somewhere very remote and not by water resources.

Booze Kills Nuke

Nuker are short sighted, greedy, they want immediate gratification, they don't care about short term risks to others or long term risks to anyone.

http://enformable.com/2012/10/supervisor-at-calvert-cliffs-confirmed-positive-for-alcohol-during-fitness-for-duty-test/

And they get drunk on duty.    Drunk while operating the most dangerous thing on earth.

And these drunks just arent the worker bees, these are the supervisors.

Nuke is too dangerous for humans.

At Kewaunee workers were busted for drinking at lunch IN CONTAINMENT!   Now Kewaunee is being shut down, 1 down 103 to go.

Nuke Jousting scores a kill, Kewaunee is Dead

This is Hilarious…on Saturday the 20th, a pronuker was attacking me and posted links to a Wisconsin nuclear site. The link he provided gave me some troll jousting fodder, and I took a shot a Kewaunee, a troubled Wisconsin nuclear plant….jousted it good!

2 days later….they announce the closing of the plant.

No joke, check this article on ENENews, the Kewaunee nuke plant is being mothballed for economic reasons -- as its former large buyers have developed a successful feed-in-tariff using solar PV, and of course, Nat Gas backup and generation.

If The Earth Was About to Plow through a Cloud Of Meteors, Would They Tell?

Would they tell?

If the Earth was going to fly through a "cloud" of meteors, would "they" tell you?

Supposedly, something as small as 400ft across could have earth devastating effects.   What if we were going to fly through a high density zone of meteors say 50 ft to 600ft in diameter?   And take maybe 200 serious hits?

Would they tell you?

Or would they make a power grab for all the resources in the world?
Would they build bunkers?
Would they beef up civilian law enforcement tools and vehicles?

Your house would not likely be hit directly, but areas along shorelines could be wiped out by waves.     A great majority of important commerce occurs on waterways.   Economic and social chaos could be huge.
------------------------------------------------------------
They call it the Tunguska Event.

There was a big asteroid that "blew up" over Russia in 1908, "they", you know the experts (!) couldn't find any remnant of the space rock.  Now they think Lake Cheko is actually the impact crater.

NASA says this rock was probably only 120 feet across.

 http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/11/071107-russia-crater.html

They say the "blast" was equal to about 1000 Hiroshima Bombs, and it flattened 770 square miles of forest.

They says that a 10M (about 33 feet across) space rock can generate a blast equal to a small Nuke bomb like at Nagasaki.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What if 25% of the planet were about to be wiped out?  Would they tell us, would they tell the muppets?

Or would amateur astronomers pickup near earth trajectories just days ahead of time?   Perhaps the big scopes and space based scope already know much of this.   But no use exciting the sheeple, sheeple are harder to shear when they are running around all panicked.

June 2012 a recently discovered asteroid did a fly by, and it was discovered to be "earth crushing" size, more than twice the size the earlier estimates made.

    Solar Calculations are Really Easy

A pronuker was claiming that a family of 4 needs 120 PV solar panels to make their own electricity.    Turns out he was lying by a factor of 400%---trying to make it seem like energy independence was impossible to obtain when in fact it is simple and easy to obtain.
    ______________________________________________________________

    Here is his comment

    04:55 PM on 10/15/2012
What's wrong with placing a moratorium on all BIG energy proposals, while we see how to maximize solar-on-every-roof and conservation?

    ThinkCreeps
Because it'll be very dark. That's an excellent step, but not sufficient.

40kWh per day per head is the average US electricity consumption. Does your family of four have a 200-square-meter roof?

Here is my response.  If you follow the calcs, you will see just how easy they are.
    _____________________________________________________________
I see 2152 SF, and about 18 SF per 255W panel, that means 120 panels.    Now using a DC to AC multiplier of .824 the AC output of the panel will be around 210W *120 panels, or around 25.214 kW.   Wow!   that is a huge system creeps!

Now at 5 Sunhours *25.1 kW that equals around  126 kWH per day.   that would be 30 day * 126 kWH or around 3782 kWH per month.

hmmm--at the national average of $.12 that would mean the monthly bill would be around $453 a month in electricity, although the average family of 4 only pays $120.

And indeed, in Hawaii, sunhours around 6, the average family takes their bill to zero with about 20 to 30 panels NOT 120 panels as you "promote"

So stop lying, how can you tell when a nuker is lying?  When his keyboard is typing.

Go solar, so cheap, there has been a seachange.

    San Onofre the Real Story

    From "jollygoodtimer"

Try to read between the lines of SCEdison's proposal for the partial test restart at San Onofre.

Can you you see that SCE is ---wink, wink--- is trying to get you to see they are --wink, winking--at you?

SCE knows that San Onofre is toast. But they can't say that. We must say that San Onofre is simply undergoing repair necessary for gradual restart.

We must agree to pretend, for the present time, that San Onofre is less than half-way through its operable power generating life span.

Because once we say that San Onofre's days are done generating electricity, the FASB (financial accounting standards board) rules will require that costs for decommissioning the facility must be recognized on all of SCE's financial reports.

That will cause the financial ratios used by SCE's stock and bond investors, and used to calculate executive bonuses, to change from mildly sweet to excessively bitter.

The costs for decommissioning the San Onofre facility need to remain as addendum items on SCE's books - still far out into the future when technological advances are expected to make the estimated nominal costs of decommission significantly less than today.

That's the little game - wink, wink - we all need to play along.

Until SCE can legally decouple the liability of decommission expense from their asset and equity equation - lets just agree to say that full power operation is just around the next corner.

Major points against SanO remaining in operation:
    1. It is sited on Major Fault lines + the new NRC Director is a trained Geologist that knows faults.

    2. SCE sneaked the RSG phony design past the NRC review process!

    3. SCE/SanO has the worst operated reactor in the Country.

    4. SCE has a long history of major Safety violations that is the worst in the USA.

    5. SanO almost had a major nuclear accident because of SCE's "in-house" bad tube design.

    6. Decommissioning SanO would instantly solve all the NRC SanO oversight issues.

    7. The NRC knows that if they stop SanO from restarting, the Industry will get the message, to tighten up their operations.

    8. It will make the NRC look great without making them look like they caved into the activists.

    9. Restarting even under 70% power has MAJOR RISKS, as the DAB Safety Team has already pointed out, so why take ANY chances?

As I see it, the NRC would much rather have all its SanO problems get Decommissioned and we can help by telling them N☢ SCE RESTARTS

    SORE San Onofre Reactor Emergency.

From a Nuke Engineer....he says the way to kill San Onofre from ever re-starting is to prove that they knowingly and willingly broke this rule on how plant part changeouts can occur.

    http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/cfr/part050/part050-0059.html

Read up, beat them at their own tech game.

Tens of Tons of nastiness were launched into the air

HERE is all the supporting information, in the yellow highlight right below, click on to download all of the data and calculations, which prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that  at least Tens of Tons of Poisonous Heavy Metals were launched into the atmosphere, aerosolized well enough to travel all the way to Europe.

Here is the link to the permanent page on this blog that calculates one instance of just how bad Fukushima was (is).    It uses widespread EPA data from Guam, Signapore, Hawaii, San Francisco to to calculate the mass of the uranium and plutonium that was aerosolized.   It is a no brainer.

We can't get rid of nukes overnight, and the nuke cartel is strong and dangerous, like a Badger backed into a corner, but we need to quickly ween ourselves off this most dangerous thing on earth.

Classic lies....make em big, repeat em.   That is the way of the nuke cartel.   Stop falling for it.
