It doesn’t go past me Columbia and Watts Bar chilled environment occurred in 2015. Is it just a coincidence both these happened in 2015? No doubt Columbia nuclear plant should get a chilled environment NRC inspection. So the Columbia whistleblowers went to the news media, while the Watts Bar whistleblower senior reactor operators went to the NRC (Allegation)? I wonder, according to the whistleblowers, does the NRC chilled environment inspection or news media get more corrective action within the plant? I’ll tell you what, it grinds through the gears a lot faster with the unproved public disclosure of problems and the resultant corporate lawyer internal investigation?

I remember when I was a whistleblower at Vermont Yankee in 1992. Vermont Yankee was getting straight “A plus” grades from the NRC. The troops at my plant seen a drastic decline in safety and performance at the plant. So I wrote a letter to the governor and then accused her of sitting on my safety concerns. I remember as my issues were getting explained in the papers, the NRC stated that VY got very good grades at the plant for many years. It was one of the best operating plants in the USA. Then months later, as I was under a deepening cloud, the senior resident inspector approached me while I was in the plant. He wanted to thank me for my efforts. He said the agency couldn’t see the beginning of the decline in the performance of the plant, as you disclosed your problem. He said now, the NRC could clearly see the decline.

“Junk Nuclear Plant Safety Culture: Why did Columbia and Watts Bar Emerge in 2015”

It is noted the first stage Columba whistleblower internal corporate lawyer investigation stated “There has been a decline in performance at Energy Northwest’s nuclear power plant near Richland, the Columbia Generating Station…”.The NRC’s 2015 assessment of Columbia notes no such decline in performance. Why is there so much daylight between the Columbia’s internal whistleblower investigation and the NRC current annual assessment?

Personally I think the term “chilled environment” (impaired safety culture) is misnamed through campaign contributions. Davis Besse hole in the head is a chilled environment that got away from everyone. Safety culture should be another safety limit: “A restriction or range placed upon important process variables that are necessary to reasonably protect the integrity of the physical barriers that guard against the uncontrolled release of radioactivity.” So any detectable so called chilled environment is a violation of a safety limit and requires an immediate plant shutdown. Especially seen and perceived by many people?

You know, another one of these societal deterrence tools.

Thus, radioactive releases due to nuclear bomb tests and nuclear powerplant accidents (among other man-made factors) correlate directly with the worldwide epidemics of new diseases and disease complexes such as AIDS, and with a resurgence of older infectious diseases such as measles, hepatitis, tuberculosis, cholera and syphilis. [See Figure 6] The correlation is direct, and the lack of government and scientific concern over the evidence is astounding. Wherever heavy rainfall, diet and social disintegration combine to decimate immune systems and introduce radioactive materials — Strontium-90 being a leading culprit — into people’s bodies, modern plagues are being introduced in populations unable to ward them off.

In recent years, it has become clear that the damage to the immune defenses of the body also lowers its ability to fight cancer. Strontium-90 and other fission products similar to calcium contaminate milk, meat, and root vegetables that are the staples of most western diets. They concentrate in bones and damage the cells of the immune system originating in the bone marrow of newborns as well as adults.

Interestingly, a study by the March of Dimes (NY Times, Apr. 20, 1991), showed that in the mid-1980s, the infant mortality for the Asian population of New York City had plunged to an all-time low of five per 1,000 live births, as low or lower than reached in any other large city in the world — although the infant mortality rate remained about four times greater for the Black population.
The enormous discrepancy fits exactly the hypothesis that it is chiefly the milk, cheese and large amounts of high fat, high Strontium-90 beef that compose the diet of most people in the U.S., but which are not part of most Asians’ diets, that have been devastating the immune systems of the rest of the world’s population since the nuclear age began.

No socio-economic or medical care changes could explain the sudden large fluctuations in mortality over so short a time. Likewise, no other toxic agents such as DDT, PCB, dioxin or other herbicides, pesticides, industrial chemicals or seepages from toxic waste dumps could explain the sharp rises and declines in the U.S. Monthly Vital Statistics across the country as a whole. Only a short-lived toxic agent such as iodine-131 together with other short-lived isotopes could account for such rapid rises and declines of mortality. Indeed, it is the appearance of this short-lived radioactive agent that highly correlates with the sudden rises and declines of all three types of mortality reported for the different regions of the U.S.

Radioactive iodine-131 and other fission products damage key hormone-producing organs such as the thyroid, the pituitary and other glands involved in the control of vital functions such as growth, development, reproduction and immune resistance. As the evidence provided by the Chernobyl accident strongly suggests, low levels of fission products in the air, drinking water and the diet are likely to be the principal factors in the otherwise unexplained changes in mortality and fertility seen in the United States during the years of nuclear weapons testing following World War II.

Not me, but in case you find others here (or have thoughts yourself, Stock):
Short half-life positively-charged alpha emitters love to stick to pollen, which a plant will negatively charge to stick to bees. Bees themselves positively charge themselves when flying.

Two of the fastest and most powerful natural sentinels for the most dangerous radioactive releases (anything containing much alpha) are pollen and leafy plants with sticky trichomes.
Hand-held counters are not terribly efficient at alpha counting and preparing the sample is critical.

We may have been able to see immediate and profound effects of Fuku by looking at those two natural sources.

If there are any bee keepers in the Northwest or Cali: does anyone have any references for unusual die-offs in the spring/early summer of 2011? Honey and comb would not have been tested properly or quickly enough to see the short-lived alpha, so I know tests showed nothing. The honey itself would not have been an issue by time it went to market. I'm interested in any anecdotal evidence from bee-keepers for unexplained colony collapse. Of course, if you miraculously happened to do detailed alpha surveys of pollen on your hives that spring, that would be most helpful too.

There is a question if you could even detect the amounts of alpha likely to collect on pollen/bees even in the most extreme circumstances. Enough to kill the bees, but not enough even for good equip. to detect

We hypothesized that (i) European vespertilionid bat species have the digestive enzyme chitinase and that (ii) the chitinolytic activity is located in the intestine, as has been found for North American bat species. The gastrointestinal tracts of seven bat species (Pipistrellus pipistrellus, Plecotus auritus, Myotis bechsteinii, Myotis nattereri, Myotis daubentonii, Myotis myotis, and Nyctalus leisleri) were tested for chitinolytic activity by diffusion assay.

Gastrointestinal tracts of P. pipistrellus, P. auritus, M. nattereri, M. myotis, and N. leisleri were examined for acidic mammalian chitinase by western blot analysis. Tissue sections of the gastrointestinal tract of P. pipistrellus were immunohistochemically analyzed to locate the acidic mammalian chitinase. Chitinolytic activity was detected in the stomachs of all bat species. Western blot analysis confirmed the acidic mammalian chitinase in stomach samples.

So let's see. Since 2011, we have had a continuous degradation of the Pacific west and north west ocean and even south pacific now.

We had reports of massive amounts of iodine in the kelp early on. We have the collapse of various feeder fish species and their fisheries. We have the collapse of krill. The collapse of many sea birds.
We have chronic wasting diseases of various otherwise hardy sea life all over.

Now there is starving and sick higher order sea life all over the place that is continuing to get worse.
The tidal pools on the west coast look completely sterilized. Even early on there were many reports from the arctic and Alaska of radiation sickness in mammals.

You are in denial, wake up. This is real and it isn't going away.

In a few years, there isn't going to be anything left to argue over because the few remaining unhealthy sea mammals kicking around will have perished.

It started with the plankton/phytoplankton super concentrating isotopes and it's been working it's way to the top ever since. We sterilized the Pacific, it's dying.
